Public lighting gives charm to the tourist resorts on the Adriatic coast. Beautiful seaside promenades are full of walkers during summer time. What about the public lighting during winter and off season?
High energy costs of long winter nights often cause the public lighting on walkways to be turned off.
Smart public lighting systems can significantly help in such cases. The lightning control system runs in different modes. During peak season the lighting is in full operation. During off season only part of the lighting is active (e.g. every third luminaire) which allows a satisfactory level of illumination and significantly lower operating costs.
The control system is smart and easily programmable via SMS or via the Internet. Just before the pre-season holidays (such as Easter or Labor Day), when an increased number of tourists is expected at the destination, lighting can be set to run in full operation.
