How to effectively organize maintenance?

Dynamics of production imposes high standards on the availability of production facilities. Today availability of 95% or higher is expected, depending on the type of industry. At the same time, narrow maintenance budgets are imposed. This also imposes the need for a rational procurement of the machinery.

Careful selection of equipment during procurement minimizes the list of necessary spare parts always available in stock. For example, during procurement of new machinery it is important to obtain the standard type of pneumatics, valve type, motor type, PLC control system, standard HMI, control panel equipment. In that case, one device in the spare part stock is used as a spare part for multiple production lines or machines at once.

If the maintenance staff undergoes training for certain equipment, they become capable of intervening in the whole plant, and malfunctions and disturbances are eliminated much faster.

Efficient maintenance is planned during the process of procurement of the plant or machinery.
